One of my very first writing platforms was Livejournal during my teenage years. Later that transferred to Deadjournal when I thought it was uber cool to wear eyeglasses with no lenses, as I was full of teen angst and needed an outlet to express myself.
When I was 16, an article I wrote for the Newnan Times-Herald Teen Board about my experience with Livejournal was featured on the front page of the Opinion section. There it was in black and white- my words, my story, my soul- for all of the world (or Newnan, Georgia, rather) to see. It didn’t take long for my friends and family to tell me they had seen my article in the paper. The sense of pride and accomplishment I felt couldn’t be matched at that time, and it was then that I realized what my true passion in life was.
The need to connect with others is a basic human instinct. We crave affection, to be understood, and to be heard.
While my words on my blog are what I feel express my true self, I invite you to connect with me through my other social channels, as well. I try to keep my blog posts meaningful and thought-provoking rather than just informative, so a lot of my updates are handled through Facebook and Instagram. I’ve recently re-signed-up for Twitter and a few other less used media outlets, so feel free to browse around and get to know me.
I’d love to get to know you, also, so go ahead and shoot me an email or two to get the conversation started!
Oh, and don’t forget I love to do reviews. If you’d like me to review your product, article, etc., just let me know.
